The Garrard County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) has a major role in preparing for emergencies and disaster events. The Garrard County LEPC is comprised of the county Judge/Executive, Mayor of Lancaster, EMA Director and Deputy Directors, the Lancaster Police Chief and Garrard County Sheriff, EMS Director, 911 Coordinator, and local Fire Department Chiefs. The Garrard County LEPC meets periodically to discuss training, emergency communications, and other topics related to emergency and disaster management in the county.
